I went looking for the lining
Inside my cloud of darkest gray
Hoping to find a little silver
To get me through another day.
Then a voice said, “Child, look around you
At all the beauty that is here,
If I so clothe the lilies
Will I not care for you, My dear?”
So I rearranged my vision
I stopped looking at the clouds
And I focused on the flowers
And the beauty that abounds.
Soon my heart felt so much lighter
The sky turned from gray to blue
And I heard that soft voice whisper,
“Child, I am pleased with you.”
Though life is full of struggles
And sometimes I lose my way
God’s beauty is all around me
And His grace sufficient for today.
